Today on this Independence Day weekend we will tackle part 2 of “God’s Word to America”
Our foundational text is 2 Chronicles 7:14
“if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.” 2 Chronicles 7:14
In this promise of God we are given 4 clear mandates from the Lord which define the characteristics of true repentance that brings restoration, and forgiveness for God’s backslidden people. Last week we explored the meaning and context of this verse as well as the first two mandates: Humility and prayer. Today we will dive in to the last two mandates: Seeking God’s face & repentance.
As your pastor, my prayer is that the body of believers at Calvary Chapel of Eagle will seek after God with a whole hearted and willing mind (1Chronicles 28:9), repenting from our sins and giving God glory with the fruit of our lips and the fruit of our lifestyle.
“And you, Solomon my son, know the God of your father and serve him with a whole heart and with a willing mind, for the LORD searches all hearts and understands every plan and thought. If you seek him, he will be found by you, but if you forsake him, he will cast you off forever. 1 Chronicles 28:9
