There is a big difference between “knowledge” and “wisdom”. You can have great knowledge and still lack wisdom. Knowledge is simply information or “knowing stuff”. But wisdom is knowing what to do with that information. Some with less knowledge have even displayed great wisdom in using what little knowledge they possessed.
Having information and knowing what to do with it is great. But then there is an even higher wisdom. It is a “spiritual wisdom” that the world cannot know or experience apart from Christ. The wisdom of God may even appear bizarre or foolish to the intellectuals of this world. But only through the wisdom of God can we find salvation, forgiveness of sins and eternal life.
It’s all found in what Paul calls, “The message of the cross”
“For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.” 1 Corinthians 1:18
“And I, brethren, when I came to you, did not come with excellence of speech or of wisdom declaring to you the testimony of God. For I determined not to know anything among you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified. I was with you in weakness, in fear, and in much trembling. And my speech and my preaching were not with persuasive words of human wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, that your faith should not be in the wisdom of men but in the power of God. However, we speak wisdom among those who are mature, yet not the wisdom of this age, nor of the rulers of this age, who are coming to nothing. But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, the hidden wisdom which God ordained before the ages for our glory, which none of the rulers of this age knew; for had they known, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.” 1 Corinthians 2:1-8
May your faith rest securely in the wisdom and power of God alone!
