Do you ever have trouble trusting God? Are there areas of your life where you tend to worry when you really shouldn’t? Perhaps it all comes down to your view of the Sovereignty God. When we find ourselves in situations that cause us to worry, in reality, they are opportunities to exercise faith in God. It’s one thing to say we are Christians and believe the bible. It’s quite another thing to think, talk, act and live in a way that lines up with what we say we believe.
The following scriptures should challenge your faith in such a way as to motivate you to talk and live differently from unbelievers.
“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy–meditate on these things. The things which you learned and received and heard and saw in me, these do, and the God of peace will be with you.” Philippians 4:6-9, NKJV.
“And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.” Romans 8:28, NKJV.
“These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” John 16:33, NKJV.
Lord, help us to think and live like we believe Your promises!
