Do you know that God has created you for a purpose?
Do you know what that purpose is?
First and foremost you were created for His pleasure.
“Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.”
Revelation 4:11, KJV.
Living for His pleasure encompasses both what you do and what you don’t do. Many people think “true religion” is merely what you “don’t do”. i.e. sins & bad habits. But James teaches us that “true religion” has two parts…
“Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their trouble, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world.” James 1:27
Notice from the above verse that “pure religion” encompasses both what you do and don’t do. What you “don’t do” – you don’t have the same value system, priorities and practices of the world (Keep oneself unspotted from the world). What you “DO” – You love others in such a way that you care for those who are commonly unloved or neglected (visit orphans and widows in their trouble).
Make 2016 the year you live life as God intended.
- Live your life for His pleasure. (Rev 4:11)
- Live your life loving God and loving others. (James 1:27a)
- Live your life free from the values and practices of this sinful world (James 1:27b) Live for His purposes and pleasure.
Have a blessed New Year!
