When sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ with various people we must be willing to use various approaches. The Gospel is always the same and never changes. But the way we share the Gospel may vary. In a nutshell, the Gospel can be summed up in the following verses.

“For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures,” 1 Corinthians 15:3-4

“and He died for all, that those who live should live no longer for themselves, but for Him who died for them and rose again.” 2 Corinthians 5:15

“Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord,” Acts 3:19

There are many ways to share this blessed Gospel. When witnessing to a Jew you should use the Hebrew scriptures to tie in the concept of the promised Jewish Messiah. When witnessing to someone who has had no previous exposure to the scriptures you must take another approach such as “Creation Evangelism”.

Paul, when reaching a totally pagan society used this approach in sharing Jesus…

“But when the apostles Barnabas and Paul heard this, they tore their clothes and ran in among the multitude, crying out and saying, “Men, why are you doing these things? We also are men with the same nature as you, and preach to you that you should turn from these useless things to the living God, who made the heaven, the earth, the sea, and all things that are in them, “who in bygone generations allowed all nations to walk in their own ways. “Nevertheless He did not leave Himself without witness, in that He did good, gave us rain from heaven and fruitful seasons, filling our hearts with food and gladness.” Acts 14:14-17

When seeking to share the truth of scripture with a non-religious person it’s a good idea to start with the design / designer approach. That’s one reason why the belief in evolution is so dangerous. Evolution stands in stark contradiction to the creation story found in the bible. Only one explanation for our existence can be true. Is everything we see a result of a big explosion and everything came from nothing, life came from non-life? Are we merely the product of time and chance? Or are we the product of a loving creator, designed by the designer? May we all learn to share the good news of Jesus in an accurate and effective way!
