Many mistakenly think the above statement is a scripture verse. And though this statement is found nowhere in scripture, those of us who study the bible realize that this statement is certainly true.

Here are a few verses of scripture that speak along this line…

“For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” says the LORD. “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts.” Isaiah 55:8, 9, NKJV.

“Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and His ways past finding out! “For who has known the mind of the LORD? Or who has become His counselor?” Romans 11:33, 34, NKJV.

Because of this truth it is foolish to think we can ever fully understand the Lord to the point of explaining why He does the things He does.

So also, in today’s text as in last week’s text, we see the Apostle Paul go from one terrible situation to another. And once more, because God’s grace, see good come out of what appears to be evil. Though we can’t explain it all, we can simply trust God and embrace the truths of His word.

As Job said, “Though He slay me, yet will I trust Him…” Job 13:15a

We rarely find comfort in most of our life experiences. But we can always find comfort and hope in Christ and the Word of God. That’s the Romans 8:28 principle…

“And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.” Romans 8:28, NAS95.

“You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You.” Isaiah 26:3, NKJV.

Keep your mind stayed on Him!
