Do you grasp the fact that your life is temporary? (Hebrews 9:27)
Do you understand that you only have a limited amount of time in this life?
If you are a Christian, surely you know that God saved you for a reason. (Not just ‘to go to heaven’.) He has a purpose for you in this life. Do you know what it is?
Let me make is simple for you…
Love God. Love People. / Serve God. Serve People!
How do I come to that conclusion?
Ponder the following texts of scripture…
Jesus summed up all the laws of God like this…
“…You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ “This is the first and great commandment. “And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ “On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.”” Matthew 22:37-40
The Apostle Paul reminded us…
“…and He died for all, that those who live should live no longer for themselves, but for Him who died for them and rose again.” 2 Corinthians 5:15
At the end of Solomon’s book of wisdom he wrote…
“Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God and keep His commandments, for this is man’s all. For God will bring every work into judgment, Including every secret thing, Whether good or evil.” Ecc 12:13-14
We all know people who live basically good lives, but not for the Lord. Many fill their days with fun activities or hard work but no investment in eternity. Live your life with eternity in view. Though there are plenty of ways to fill your days, don’t waste all your days with vanity or selfishness.
Only one life will soon be past. Only what’s done for Christ will last.
