Q.  What is “The Great Commission?”

A.  Jesus’ commission to His disciples to reach the lost and dying world with the Gospel.

Q.  What is the Gospel?

A.  The Gospel is the good news that though we are all guilty of sin and headed for certain judgment, Christ took our penalty for us. All who believe and follow Christ receive forgiveness of sins and eternal life.

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. “For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.” John 3:16-17

The great commission includes the command to teach God’s Word and make disciples of all nations…

“And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, “teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.” Matthew 28:18-20

What is your part in the Great Commission?

“Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation, that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation. Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God.”

2 Corinthians 5:18-20
