Today’s text presents a very important spiritual principle for every Christian to know and embrace. For by one offering He has perfected forever those who are being sanctified.” (Hebrews 10:14)

Because of God’s amazing grace, He has saved us by grace through faith.

For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.” (Ephesians 2:8–9)

We are “saved”. We are children of God.

And we are destined to be like Jesus.

Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is.” (1 John 3:2)

We have not yet arrived at our final spiritual destination. We are all in process. Some are further along than others when it comes to holiness and spiritual maturity. We must continue to push forward towards the goal.

And do this, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep; for now our salvation is nearer than when we first believed.” (Romans 13:11)

God’s will for each of us is that we come to the place of faith and obedience and personal holiness.

God’s will is for you to be holy, so stay away from all sexual sin. Then each of you will control his own body and live in holiness and honor—not in lustful passion like the pagans who do not know God and his ways.” (1 Thessalonians 4:3–5, NLT)

Only Jesus can take us to that place and make us what we ought to be.

Today’s text…

Under the old covenant, the priest stands and ministers before the altar day after day, offering the same sacrifices again and again, which can never take away sins. But our High Priest offered himself to God as a single sacrifice for sins, good for all time. Then he sat down in the place of honor at God’s right hand. There he waits until his enemies are humbled and made a footstool under his feet. For by that one offering he forever made perfect those who are being made holy. And the Holy Spirit also testifies that this is so. For he says, “This is the new covenant I will make with my people on that day, says the Lord: I will put my laws in their hearts, and I will write them on their minds.”” (Hebrews 10:11–16, NLT)

Keep pushing forward, and keep your eyes on the prize.
