The GOOD NEWS that we proclaim is “all about Jesus Christ“!
Before you can truly appreciate THE GOOD NEWS about JESUS you must first understand THE BAD NEWS…
THE BAD NEWS is that all of humankind has fallen from their once perfect state. God created the first humans in a perfect condition in rich fellowship with Him. But because of sin we now live in a fallen world cut off from God’s fullness.
- Sin is violation of God’s perfect law. (1John 3:4) (Watch this video for a good explanation)
- We all inherited sin from Adam and Eve. (Romans 5:12)
- But we are also sinners because we all have sinned. (Romans 3:23).
The Bible teaches that the wages (consequences) of sin is death and separation from God.
“For the wages of sin is death…” Romans 6:23a, NKJV.
THE GOOD NEWS IS… GOD’S REMEDY for our death sentence was to pay our sin debt through the atoning, substitutionary death of a perfect sacrifice… JESUS!
“who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness–by whose stripes you were healed.” 1 Peter 2:24, NKJV.
“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 6:23, NKJV.
“Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned– But the free gift is not like the offense. For if by the one man’s offense many died, much more the grace of God and the gift by the grace of the one Man, Jesus Christ, abounded to many. …Therefore, as through one man’s offense judgment came to all men, resulting in condemnation, even so through one Man’s righteous act the free gift came to all men, resulting in justification of life. … so that as sin reigned in death, even so grace might reign through righteousness to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Romans 5:12-21, NKJV.
Since Jesus offered Himself as a sacrifice for our sins on the cross, ANYONE who comes to Him CAN BE FORGIVEN of all their sins AND BE MADE RIGHT WITH GOD.
“For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ.” 2 Corinthians 5:21, NLT.
Because GOD LOVES YOU, He was willing to pay the ultimate sacrifice in order that you might be forgiven and have fellowship with Him.
“But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8, NKJV.
“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. “For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.” John 3:16, 17, NKJV.
God made salvation so simple that all you have to do is acknowledge your sin, turn from your sin & believe the Gospel. Trust Jesus as your Savior and call upon Him for forgiveness and eternal life. Confess Him as Lord of your life and receive life.
“… that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” Romans 10:8-10, NKJV.
