The bible tells us that we will all stand before Christ in judgment someday.
“For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad.” 2 Corinthians 5:10
But for Christians, that judgment will not be a judgment of our sin. Because our sin was dealt with at the cross of Christ.
“…having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross.” Colossians 2:14
Or Judgment day will be a judgment of our works, having to do with rewards and losses. Because in truth, every Christian is called to serve the Lord with his or her life and do ministry for Him. He purchased us with His blood. He owns us. We are now to live for His purposes.
“and He died for all, that those who live should live no longer for themselves, but for Him who died for them and rose again.” 2 Corinthians 5:15
“But there is going to come a time of testing at the judgment day to see what kind of work each builder has done. Everyone’s work will be put through the fire to see whether or not it keeps its value. If the work survives the fire, that builder will receive a reward. But if the work is burned up, the builder will suffer great loss. The builders themselves will be saved, but like someone escaping through a wall of flames.” 1 Corinthians 3:13-15, NLT (1996 edition).
Let’s live our lives in such a way as to allow the Holy Spirit to work through us to produce eternal fruit for The Kingdom of God.
“And behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to every one according to his work.” Revelation 22:12
Only one life will soon be past. Only what’s done for Christ will last.
Make your life count for eternity!
