We know from Paul’s writings that the majority of spiritual warfare takes place in the mind. Satan is seeking to tell us lies and blind us to God’s truth.

“For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ,” 2 Corinthians 10:4-5

Beware: The devil wants us to believe the same lies that he has convinced the world to believe. He seeks to persuade us to adopt the worlds value system and priorities.

“But even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing, whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them.” 2 Corinthians 4:3-4

This is why it is so important that we not only pray for our lost friends and acquaintances but that we also engage their minds with “reasonable” arguments for the Gospel of Christ in order to “persuade” them to believe.

“And he (Paul) reasoned in the synagogue every Sabbath, and persuaded both Jews and Greeks.” Acts 18:4, NKJV.

“But (you) sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear;” 1 Peter 3:15
